Madelyn's First Birthday

Yeah!! I'm a year old!!
I wasn't quite sure what to think of everything. Everyone was singing and there was fire.
The first taste of birthday cake.
I was very dainty and didn't want to get to dirty. Mom and Dad thought I might really make a mess so they stripped me down to my diaper. I just used my fingertips and licked the icing off. Mom tried to encourage me to dig in by helping me find the cake under the icing.
If you could just hold that there I can lick off the icing and not get my hands all messy.
Dad tried to encourage me to get into the cake. These people are crazy! They all stood around and watched me eat something they seldom let me have a taste of, let alone my own plate full. I was very neat and dainty and they wanted me to get it everywhere. I don't get it, I think they are just NUTS!
This does taste pretty good
This is what I needed!!! A fork keeps me much cleaner than using my hands. Besides, I'm a big girl now and I know exactly how to use it.
Mommy made the cakes for my birthday. I had a barnyard party complete with pig and chick cupcakes.
Here's the barn cake
Madelyn's very own cake
My buddy Titus helped me open some of my presents
I have lots of people that love me that came to my party. Aunt Suzette, Uncle Ryan and Adriana. Treece and Allison. Brenda, Titus and Grant. Daniel, Kate and Ava. Grandpa and Grandma Freidenberger. Great Grandpa and Grandma Freidenberger.
Grandpa and Grandma Freidenberger and Great Grandpa and Grandma Freidenberger drove up from La Junta for my birthday party.

Madelyn's First Christmas

This is fun!! I have so many new toys to play with.
This was the first present I unwrapped. I had been playing with the bow for several days. It's the first present I would crawl to get.
Where's my mask?? I made out like a bandit. This is all my new stuff, not including the toys and clothes from the Freidenberger side of the family. Mom and Dad may need to look for a new house.
Gotta eat my Wheaties so I can get through all my presents.
Santa brought Wylee lots of new toys and some treats.
The Christmas tree on Christmas morning. Madelyn loved the Christmas tree. Every morning when she got up we had to go to the tree and look at all the ornaments.

Christmas 2007 pictures

We made another trip to Sears to have pictures taken for Madelyn's first Christmas.
Merry Christmas!!!
I've been a very good girl this year
Happy Holidays
I wonder what could be in here
The best present anyone could ask for - priceless
Straight from A Christmas Carol with my coat and hat

The Marks family's 1st Christmas together
I didn't have to go buy presents for anyone, I just wrapped myself up
Too cute in my Santa hat
Don't forget to call me when dinner is served

Thanksgiving 2007

I got to eat good food for Thanksgiving - mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.
I like to lock my toes on my highchair tray.
Madelyn and Adriana get along very well these days, they no longer make each other cry.
Yummy--whipped cream. Adriana couldn't even move the whisk away from her mouth to tell her mommy bye--she just talked through the wires.
Adriana helped Melinda clean the whisk after making whipped cream.

Running down the hall in my tails, catch me if you can and maybe I'll let you put pants back on me.

Madelyn says "duck"

10 months old

Madelyn isn't crawling yet, but she has figured out how to push herself backwards. She got on the tile floor and figured she could go much easier than on the carpet (but it does give you cold hands and a cold belly).
Taking a break to lick the floor (is this a hint that Mom needs to mop?)
Madelyn usually sleeps on her belly these days
Taking a ride in my toy basket

Fall Fun and Halloween

Mom and Dad raked all the leaves in the yard and decided it made a great backdrop for pictures.
I hear that giraffes eat leaves, but I just like to play in them.

In my Halloween jammies, cap and bib.
Playing with the pumpkins that are my size
Our cute little giraffe
Sitting on a pumpkin
Melinda dressed up like Raggedy Anne--after she got the wig and make-up on, Madelyn cried and cried and cried. She eventually decided it was okay.
Having fun playing in the leaves
I only tried to eat a leaf once...
...and it didn't taste very good!
We took a trip to the pumpkin patch to find some nice pumpkins for Halloween. Adriana and Madelyn got to take a ride in the wagon.
I think this looks like a good pumpkin
The pumpkins and the girls are loaded in the wagon
Grandma Freidenberger got to come out over the weekend and see all her girls. She got to be part of the trip to the pumpkin patch.
